Year 5 pupils were invited to Queen Elizabeth High School’s theatre for a performance created and staged by the school’s Year 9 Project Q Drama Club.
The production addressed issues that young people may face, including bullying, vaping, toxic relationships and peer pressure. It was the result of several months of writing, rehearsing and staging by the drama club.
A lunchtime project brought to the stage
The pupils involved developed the performance during weekly lunchtime sessions. Their work produced what the school described as an engaging and powerful show, with an audience reaction that included laughter, thought and reflection.
Following the performance, the Year 5 audience took part in a question-and-answer session with members of the cast. Pupils asked about the production and drama at QEHS, while also sharing feedback about what they had learned from the performance.
Students recognised for their contribution
The school also highlighted the technical work behind the production. Alastair and Eve operated the lighting and sound, supporting the performers and helping create the finished show.
The school’s news report, published on 17 July 2026, praised everyone involved in Project Q and indicated that another project is expected in future, although no details or date were given.
