Weird Fish is recruiting a full-time store manager in Hexham ahead of the clothing and lifestyle brand’s proposed opening in the town centre.

The permanent position carries a salary of £30,000 a year and would involve leading the team at the planned Northumberland store. The successful applicant would be responsible for launching the shop and managing its day-to-day operations.

What the Hexham job involves

The role is based on a 37.5-hour working week across five days out of seven. The Monday-to-Sunday rota includes weekend work, while the successful candidate will also help establish the store during its opening period.

The job advert asks for strong leadership and retail management experience. It also highlights responsibility for maintaining high standards of customer service and operational performance once the shop is trading.

Weird Fish describes itself as a retail lifestyle brand focused on “fun”, practicality, style and quality.

Location and opening date not confirmed

The recruitment listing does not publish the proposed store’s exact location or an opening date. However, speculation on social media has suggested the retailer could move into the former Specsavers store on Fore Street.

That location has not been confirmed by Weird Fish. The company has been approached for comment.
