Residents in Hexham were among players across the North East named as winners of £1,000 Postcode Lottery prizes during the week from Saturday, 18 July to Friday, 24 July 2026.

The ChronicleLive report identifies Leazes Crescent in Hexham as one of the winning locations. Its list of winning postcodes includes NE46 3JZ, shown as Hexham, with a prize value of £1,000.

Winning areas across the region

Hexham was one of several North East locations included in the latest draw results. Other winning areas named in the report were in County Durham, Northumberland, Gateshead, South Shields and Newcastle.

The published list records a £1,000 prize for each of the following areas:

  • DH7 9YN – Langley Park
  • NE62 5XR – Stakeford
  • NE26 4QZ – Seaton Sluice
  • NE33 3DN – South Shields
  • NE40 3QB – Ryton
  • NE5 3EY – Cowgate
  • NE46 3JZ – Hexham

The winning postcodes were selected over seven consecutive days, with the lottery unveiling daily prizes for postcodes across the country. Residents who play and live within the selected areas may therefore have reason to check their tickets and account details.

Lottery supports charities through subscriptions

The People's Postcode Lottery is a national game that raises money for charity through player subscriptions. The report says that at least 33% of the proceeds from each ticket goes to charity.

The latest results mean residents in the selected North East areas could receive a welcome summer payment, while the charitable contribution linked to the game continues alongside the prize draws.

The Hexham result follows the selection of postcode areas in several parts of the region, including other Northumberland communities. The report does not state how many individual Hexham residents shared the prize or provide a separate breakdown for Leazes Crescent.

ChronicleLive published the results at 00:12 on 25 July 2026 in a report by community reporter Emily Gray.
