Hexham Abbey is preparing to welcome a Glastonbury-style festival this weekend, with tribute bands, local performers and a Sunday cinema screening forming the line-up for GlastonAbbey.
The event is being held during a Glastonbury fallow year and will bring live music to the abbey across Friday and Saturday. Organisers have also responded to feedback by adding more bar facilities, extra food vendors and access to indoor toilets.
Who is performing at Hexham Abbey?
Friday’s programme will feature Fleetwood Mac tribute band Fleeting Rumours, alongside Geordie Cinnamon and returning local favourite Jason Arnup.
Saturday’s performers include Jack Bowater, whose act is billed as Ed Sheeran Songbook, as well as Arctic Monkeys tribute band Arctic Flunkies and Oasis 96.
The festival has a strict over-12s policy, so younger children will not be able to attend the live event.
Sunday screening at Hexham’s Forum Cinema
The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a screening of Glastonbury The Movie at Hexham’s Forum Cinema. The film will offer audiences a restored 4K view of the 1993 festival.
Tickets for GlastonAbbey are available online, with prices starting at £18. Further information is available through the Hexham Abbey event page.
