Hexham Abbey to unveil major Battle of the Somme exhibition marking 110 years

Hexham Abbey is set to host a major exhibition marking the 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, with a focus on the First World War experiences of families from the local area.

Exhibition dates and location

Hexham Hope and Resilience: 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme Exhibition will run from July 20 to September 20 at Hexham Abbey on Beaumont Street, Hexham.

Hexham Abbey Conservation Volunteers will open the exhibition, which will share local families’ First World War stories alongside its commemoration of the Somme anniversary.
