A popular pumpkin-picking event at Brocksbushes Farm Shop, around 10 minutes from Hexham, is set to return this October with a month of autumn activities, entertainment and seasonal food and drink.
The Brocksbushes Pumpkin Experience has become a regular family attraction after reaching its seventh year. Visitors will be able to choose their own pumpkins from a crop grown at the farm, while taking part in family activities, watching live entertainment and using photo opportunities around the pumpkin patch.
What visitors can expect
The farm planted 155,000 pumpkins and squash across more than 40 varieties for this year's event. The pumpkins will be available in different shapes and sizes, although organisers say the hot weather and lack of rain have created some growing challenges.
Harry Dickinson, director of Brocksbushes, said: Our team work incredibly hard to grow our pumpkins right here on the farm. Entry to the Pumpkin Experience starts from just £3.50 per person
He added: The hot weather has certainly presented some challenges this year, and while visitors may notice fewer giant pumpkins than usual due to the lack of rain, we're delighted to have produced, as always, a wonderful variety of shapes, sizes and colours.
The attractions will include a pumpkin-carving tent, the Witches Way, Baby Brocks Pumpkin Patch, a Monster Pumpkin Castle, family-friendly rides and inflatables.
New for 2026, roaming characters and magical encounters will be introduced in the pumpkin patch for younger visitors.
Food, music and ticket information
Food and drink will be available from Brocksbushes Bites, Fire & Dough, The Street Diner and The Churros Van. Visitors can also book special Pumpkin Twilight Sessions, featuring live music, street food, seasonal drinks and twinkling lights.
Entry starts at £3.50 per person. A family ticket costs £12 for up to five people, giving families another option when planning a visit.
Brocksbushes said the experience is located 10 minutes from Hexham and 30 minutes from Newcastle. Tickets must be booked online in advance through the Brocksbushes website.
The farm shop has frequently been named the best in Northumberland and is known for seasonal activities and local produce. The Pumpkin Experience combines that homegrown produce with Halloween-themed entertainment for families from across the North East.
