Hairy Bikers star Si King is bringing his first solo cookbook to Hexham Book Festival as part of a series of special events across the North East.

Si will appear at the festival at 6.15pm on November 3 to promote Proper Home Cooking. The appearance follows a North East tour during which the TV chef will talk about food, share stories and sign copies of the book.

What Hexham festival-goers can expect

The Hexham event is one of several dates announced by Si. He is also due to visit Alnwick Playhouse on October 15, while the tour begins with an appearance at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle on Wednesday, October 7.

At the Newcastle launch event, which begins at 7pm, Si is scheduled to discuss the new book, answer questions and sign copies for fans. The evening will also feature live music from Groovetrain Acoustic, with pies served by Si’s Propa Sunderland team.

Promoters said tickets for the Newcastle event were available online and warned that spaces were “very limited”. Si has also invited fans to join him for food and entertainment, describing the event as an opportunity to “have a laugh, a chat, a dance and a bite to eat”.

Cookbook tour across the North East

The tour gives audiences in Newcastle, Alnwick and Hexham the chance to meet Si during the launch of his first solo cookbook. He said he was looking forward to “talking food, sharing stories, signing some books and seeing plenty of familiar and new faces along the way”.
