QE High School Year 9 team makes dream start with 4-0 win over Haydon Bridge

Queen Elizabeth High School’s Year 9 football team began its campaign in winning fashion, beating Haydon Bridge 4-0 on Monday.

It was the players’ first football match for QE and their first time playing together as a team. They created several chances and played positively from the start, but could not break the deadlock before half-time.

Four second-half goals settle the match

Harry P opened the scoring early in the second half, converting from a corner. The goal sparked a strong spell for QE, with Jason C and Teddy M adding further goals.

Blake J completed the scoring by finding the bottom corner with a finish described by the school as beautiful. His celebration, however, was judged less impressive than the goal itself.

Queen Elizabeth High School described the result as a great start to the new campaign and congratulated the players on their performance.
