Water supplies have been restored to homes in the west end of Hexham after multiple pipe bursts disrupted the network in the Mount Pleasant area.
Northumbrian Water said several bursts had occurred since September 25. Its teams rerouted water through the network, allowing all customer supplies to be restored.
Final repairs are still under way
Although water has returned to affected homes, Northumbrian Water said final repairs are continuing. The company said the remaining work would be completed safely and thanked customers for their patience and understanding while repairs proceed.
A Northumbrian Water spokesperson said: Our teams have responded quickly, rerouting water through the network and all customer supplies have now been restored.
MP highlights impact on residents
Hexham MP Joe Morris said he understood how difficult the disruption had been for residents. He specifically highlighted the effect on families with young children, older residents and people with health needs.
Losing supply, even for a short time, is stressful and disruptive, and I am particularly conscious of the impact on families with young children, older residents and those with health needs.
Residents in the affected part of Hexham now have their water supplies back, while Northumbrian Water continues work on the outstanding repairs.
